Silent Sunday XXXVIII- Will this school year ever be over?

So my tentative plan is to post our most recent cake projects on Saturday. I am having to go back a bit because we haven't posted any in a while, so I will have to play catch up, but we will get there. We have just been really busy, Tiffs at the end of the school year and I am working on doing some spring/early summer cleaning, and of course the little girl keeps us both pretty occupied. Enough of that, on to the cakes.
Today Colby and Amber are getting married, so I figured what better a day than today to post some of the goodies we made for them. The first is the cake for their wedding shower and the cookies are for a shower as well, I think they are pretty self explanatory. It was nice to have a change of pace with the cookies and I think we are going to be doing more in the future.

Everybody loves birthday cake!

Well most everybody that is. Little M celebrated her first birthday this past year. We had thought that she would have made short work of her cake, but a couple weeks ago she had a bug that caused a couple sores in her mouth. The pediatrician said it was something she probably just picked up some random place and most everyone has it at one time or another. At any rate since then she has been quite reserved when eating time comes, unless of course it is something like goldfish or peanut butter crackers, those she eats with reckless abandon. This past Saturday was no exception.  We have given her a scrap of cake and she has tried icing before, so we figured since it is sweet, she would make short work of it, but instead she just picked at it and we ended up breaking it up with a fork. Definitely not the cute mess that we were hoping for. She had a good time though, she loves the attention, all except for opening her presents, not much interested in that, she would rather play with her favorite toy, which happens to be a cell phone that look at clothes, but that will change, all too soon I am afraid. Alright on to the cakes.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday We love you, Happy Birthday to you.
That's right, today is Little M's Birthday. Where has the time gone? Seems it was just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital, or maybe it is because I haven't gotten much sleep since then, who knows. She is tons of fun and we are excited about celebrating her special day. We will post some pictures of the party a bit later, but till then we have a couple that we took a couple weeks ago of her in her birthday dress.

Sigh

We haven't been neglecting our blog intentionally. Our computer has been on the blink. It is working, at least to some extent now, so hopefully we wil get back on track later this week. It has been a busy week. We have a cookie order to finish and this weekend we are having a party for little M, she is turning One years old on Saturday, yes we know that is crazy, we are not ready for it and we have no idea where this year has gone, but the time is upon us and we are excited about celebrating this big time in her and our life.

Yep today is our Anniversary. We have been married five years today.
 A ton lot has happened in the past five years, been all over the east coast, one of us had a graduation, the other got really sick and we have a little girl who will be a year old in 15 days!.
We are still very much in love and are looking forward to the next 90 or so years.
